The ingredients and spices needed to make a traditional meat roll.
- 2 eggs
- 2 ounces cheddar cheese
- Finely chop 1/2 onion
- 32 Ritz crackers
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2/3 cup milk
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef (I used turkey)
Steps to make traditional meatloaf
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Whisk together the egg, milk and breadcrumbs in a bowl.
- Add onion and cheese one at a time.
- Add the beef or turkey, tossing with your hands to coat well. I really hate messing with my hands but this is perfect proof. lol
- Prepare the bread and put it in a greased form. Don't forget to lubricate!!!!!
- Add the mustard, ketchup and brown sugar to the rest and mix in a bowl.
- Pour half of the sauce over the meat.
- Put in the oven for 30 minutes.
- Drain the rest with a spoon and place in the oven for another 15 minutes.
- Serve with potatoes and vegetables. A perfect Sunday lunch.
